Your customers have started asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini what to buy — and AI assistants now answer with specific brand names. So we ran a snapshot: when shoppers ask AI for jewelry recommendations, which brands come up?
Early test · Perplexity + web sources · June 30, 2026. AI answers vary by date, model, region, and prompt. This shows which brands AI mentioned most often — not a quality ranking or endorsement.
What we found. Most mentioned: Mejuri and Missoma. Frequently: Monica Vinader and Astrid & Miyu. Sometimes: Catbird, AUrate, Quince, Gorjana, and Linjer.
The pattern: a small handful of brands dominate AI’s answers. Ask for the best minimalist gold necklace and the same two or three names come up again and again — while the long tail of indie and emerging brands simply doesn’t appear.
Why this matters: AI answers are becoming the new shelf. If an assistant doesn’t mention your brand when a customer asks what to buy, that customer may never discover you — and you’ll never see the sale you lost. Being absent from AI answers is invisible churn.
Why some brands win: AI doesn’t pick names at random. It leans on the sources it trusts — editorial best-of lists, Reddit threads, structured FAQ and product pages, and review aggregators. Show up there consistently and you get surfaced; don’t, and you disappear.
